Naked What?!

Formed shortly after the Dotcom crash in May 2001, Naked Penguin Boy was the creation of the three Heasley brothers, Rob, Rowan and Greg. Our first pitch, and win, was to Universal Pictures for the International Marketing Toolkit of the film The Fast and The Furious.

Ten years on and we have had the pleasure of working with numerous film distributors, book publishers, gaming, banking and retail clients on a multitude of digital projects, specialising in design and build, social media, mobile and strategy.

Phil Jones -

Chairman

Our chairman Phil Jones is respected by our rival agencies as much as our clients. He was one of the digital pioneers of the early nineties and has been responsible for some groundbreaking projects since then.

He chairs the prestigious www.dadiawards.com and for ten years has been bringing the digital community together annually at www.digitalpodge.co.uk but we like to believe he saves his best advice for the Penguin Boys in our regular meetings.

As well as great advice he also turns up with cakes and biscuits for the staff and is very much part of our family.

Rowan Heasley -

Managing Director

One of the founders of Naked Penguin Boy, Rowans role as Managing Director is to ensure best of class marketing strategy, creative and build across all of Naked Penguin Boy's (NPB) clients.

Rowan looks after the marketing and new business roles in NPB and helps tie the creative and commercial aspects together to focus on the growth of digital.

Before Naked Penguin Boy

Rowan spent a few years in the army before travelling around Europe, North and South America for a few more, he then settled into retail, running large supermarkets before moving to London working in Futures and Options at HSBC and then as a Software Performance Consultant for companies like Friends Provident, MBNA, Coutts, P&O, Eurostar and the CRB.

Rowan's Perfect Day

Ever the "aspiring" intellectual Rowan is a science fiction fanatic, devouring books, movies and games. He still struggles to perfect his Souff London accent and can often be seen quaffing beer at his local and shouting at a TV screen where the latest international rugby match is being shown.

Rob Heasley -

Creative Director

Rob began his career as a commercial illustrator working for an advertising agency in South Africa, which prompted him to enrol on a Graphic Design Degree course at Durban University of Technology where he graduated with honors. He then went on to work for various advertising agencies in South Africa and Britain, where he produced award-winning work in print, TV, CD Rom and Web for more than a decade.

He continues to illustrate & has exhibited work at a number of galleries in the UK. He was commissioned by Getty Images to produce and licence a series of illustrations, which have been used internationally for a number of years. At any given time he has a number of personal projects on the go, the latest being a children's picture book he has written & is currently illustrating. Without giving too much away it's basically a horror story for kids!

Greg Heasley -

Interactive Director

Greg is a Founding Partner of Naked Penguin Boy and inspired the launch of the company in 2001; his role as Interactive Director is to instigate and oversee projects from a commercial aspect as well as ensuring the best of design & development to exceed client expectations.

Greg has instigated and manages several shared revenue models with clients of the agency.

Greg has a strong background in the betting and gaming industry; jockey’s agent, racing editor, racing tipster, Stipendiary Steward for the Jockey Club Of Southern Africa & Ladbrokes Internet Manager. A selection of the clients that have worked with Greg include Ladbrokes, 32red, William Hill & Intercasino.

PJ Jones -

Client Partner

Our Client Partner PJ Jones looks after and nurtures our clients, working alongside them to help drive their overall marketing strategy through strategic direction, brand guardianship, user experience and helping to ensure all digital solutions are commercially viable.

Pj comes from a project management background, and before Naked Penguin Boy worked at top 100 digital agencies Reading Room and Collective London, delivering projects for clients such as Honda UK, EA Games, Innocent Drinks, London 2012 and Blackberry.
